Terms and Conditions

Referral Policy

Clients may be referred by an agency or make a self referral.

 A date for the first session will be offered by the counsellor within 3 working days of receipt of the referral.

Location

Sessions are offered at my office in Redhill.

Home visits can be made on request, within an hour’s radius of Redhill (travel and mileage costs apply).

Sessions

50 minute sessions will be conducted in an appropriate space, agreed by client and counsellor.

Clients will be offered an agreed number of sessions of therapy, with regular reviews.  A client can choose to terminate their therapy at any point, in discussion with their counsellor or case manager. 

Fees and Cancellation Policy

The cost of a 50 minute a session:

Self referral: £65 (Concessionary rates available on request)

Insurance/Agency referral: £75

Home visits: £40 per hour for travel time from my Redhill office.

24 hrs notice is required for cancellation of a session; otherwise, the session will be charged.

The counsellor will aim to give a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice for any planned absences.

Confidentiality

All sessions will be conducted in strictest confidence and this confidence will be maintained, and applied to any and all records, in accordance with the Data Protection Act, except in the following instances:

Where the client gives consent for the confidence to be broken.

Where there is a serious safe-guarding issue.

Where the Counsellor is compelled by a court of law.

Where the information ‘is of such gravity that confidentiality cannot be maintained’ i.e. in cases of fraud and crime and where there is a case of ‘serious physical harm to self or others’ involved.

My work is supervised in accordance with the B.A.C.P.  Ethical Framework for Good Practice

Clients’ Rights

These will be honoured at all times by the counsellor, in accordance with the rules of the professional association of BACP. Copies of their “Ethical Framework for Good Practice” are available to the client at all times and include the procedure for making a complaint against the Therapist.

Record keeping

Records will held by the counsellor, in line with data protection, and can be requested by the case manager, where appropriate.
